After many years of discussion, and 12 months of planning, the Westgate will be undergoing some much needed improvements in the Autumn of 2008. The work will concentrate on two areas; Outside - the external fabric of the building, especially making weather tight parts of the building that have suffered damage by the elements, Inside - a "refreshment station" ( tea making with running water!) and a disabled access toilet in the lobby area. Funds and time permitting it is also hoped that the somewhat creaking heating system will be upgraded. These improvements will give the building a much needed face lift and make it a better environment for all users.
During the building works all normal activity within the Westgate including hires and services will need to be suspended. Whilst sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to some individuals and groups, we feel sure the improvements will make the Westgate an even more fantastic environment for everyone in the years to come.
